Dental Implants
If you have missing teeth or are wearing dentures, dental implants may be an excellent option that is right for you. Dental implants are the most natural option for replacing missing teeth, because they are supported by your jaw bone in a very similar manner of a natural tooth. Implants may be used on front and back teeth, require a relatively minor surgery, and provide a positively satisfactory result.
Implants are artificial replacements for missing teeth that look like anchors or screws. Often, they are made from titanium or other materials that are bio-compatible and well suited for placement into your supporting jaw bone. The dental implant is surgically placed into your bone, integrates and becomes one with your jaw. A successful implant has a very similar attachment to the jaw bone as does a natural tooth.
After placement and integration of the implant anchor into your bone, the crown portion (the tooth portion seen in the mouth) is placed. Your new dental implant feels and functions just like a normal tooth. The treatment is strong, stable, and permanent. Your bite will again feel complete and you will no longer have difficulties chewing food or face embarrassment of missing teeth.
